Facebook announced last week that they will change all Business Page profiles to the new Timeline design -so what does that mean for small businesses?
First of all, it means that you’ll have to learn how to use Facebook all over again. Everything is in a new place and some of the features have new options. Also, you’ll need to re-think your strategies as some of the features, like the default landing page, will no longer be available and some applications won’t work anymore on the new page.
Second of all, it means that you will have new opportunities to connect with your customers. As scary as it seems, the new changes will affect everyone. In the beginning, Page Administrators will struggle a little to keep the page interactive, and fans will struggle to interact with the new design, but eventually everyone will get used to it and you’ll be able to keep communicating with your audience – so be patient.
Also, don’t worry too much for now – changes won’t happen until March 30th. In the meantime, use the Preview Mode to ‘play’ around with your page and get to know the new settings. Also, keep an eye on our blog! We’ll be posting brand new articles explaining how you can use the new features to promote your business and you can always send your questions my way. We research daily for the newest updates/trends/technologies to keep ourselves on the cutting edge of Social Media Marketing and we’ll share our knowledge with you.
So, if you have any questions about the Facebook Timeline design and its new features, or about any social media channel, feel free to email me at nmorais@movingtargets.com and I’ll help you.
